CHAIRMAN : HIDEAKI FURUTA
Mr. Furuta set up Jomon Associates in April, 1996, the first ever Japanese executive search firm of its kind. Prior to founding Jomon Associates, Mr. Furuta was with Russell Reynolds Associates. He has now established a market for executive search for Japanese domestic companies and successfully distinguished Jomon Associates from other search firms operating in this market. Mr.Furuta's earlier career includes eight years at Nomura Securities in underwriting and brokerage management, and ten years in industrial sales with Kobe Steel, based in Tokyo, Kobe, and the Middle East. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo.
MANAGING PARTNER : TAKAAKI NAITO
Takaaki Naito graduated from Keio University with a BA in Economics in 1983. After graduation, he joined Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. where he was responsible for fixed income related business. After 10 years, he transitioned to working as an investment banker. In 2008, Takaaki was promoted to senior managing director in charge of the Asset Finance Division where he was primarily managing real estate, acquisition finance and infrastructure business. He joined Jomon Asociates in 2013, where he strives to revive Japanese industry through activating management mobility.
OUTSIDE DIRECTOR : KAZUO KUMAGAI
Mr. Kumagai graduated from Waseda University with a BA degree in Political Economics. He joined HITACHI where he rose to the rank of Vice President. After leaving HITACHI, he became chairman of The Kurata Memorial Science and Technology Foundation. Currently, Mr.Kumagai is a Corporate Auditor of NITTO DENKO and a Trustee of Toyo University. He has a wide range of knowledge and experience in the fields of electronics, chemical production, logistics and industrial machinery.
OUTSIDE DIRECTOR : YOSHIO INOUE
Mr. Inoue began his business career at the Industrial Bank of Japan. In 1998, he joined Tomoegawa Co., Ltd and the following year he became a Board Member. Since 2002, he has been the CEO of Tomoegawa. He has a great deal of knowledge concerning top management in the manufacturing sector and the mid-size company in general, and can thus speak from our client's point of view. Mr.Inoue holds a BA in Economics from Keio University.
OUTSIDE DIRECTOR : SHINICHI TONOMURA
Mr. Tonomura started his career at Nippon Steel Corporation in new business development. In 1999, he joined Headstrong Japan and has been CEO since 2001. In 2008, he also became a Board Member of Headstrong's global headquarters and is in charge of the Business Consulting Unit. Mr.Tonomura aspires to bring his expertise in global business and management to Jomon. He holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Tokyo and a MBA from Stanford University.
OUTSIDE AUDITOR : HIDEHIKO SATO
Mr. Sato graduated from the University of Tokyo with a BA in Law. He started his career at the National Policy Agency. After his tenure there, he quickly progressed to become Chief Constable of Saitama Prefecture, Director General of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, and finally, Director General of the National Police Academy. After retiring from the National Police Academy, he became Board Chairman of the Japan Police Personnel Mutual Aid Association. Mr. Sato aspires to contribute his perspective to Jomon Associates through his wealth of experience as a high-level government official.
OUTSIDE AUDITOR : KAZUHIRO MIYAGI
Mr. Miyagi graduated from Waseda University with a BA in Law. After working at Sugita CPA, Koike CPA, and Aoyama Auditing, he founded his own certified tax accounting firm, Miyagi. He became an external auditor of Jomon Associates in 2011. In addition to auditing Jomon's business from an internal control point of view, Mr. Miyagi also provides valuable management advice by leveraging his rich knowledge of accounting and tax law.
ADVISER : ANDREW GORDON
Born in Boston, USA in 1952. Received PhD in History and East Asian Languages from Harvard University in 1981. After teaching at Duke University, he joined the faculty at Harvard as Professor of History in 1995. From 1998-2004 he served as director of the Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Stuides. His work focuses on the modern history of Japan, in particular the history of labor and management relations, political and social history. At Jomon Associates he hopes to offer a global perspective on the cultivation of human resources and the globalization of Japanese corporations.
